Destinations is situated in the coastal town of Saltburn by Sea,between the urban and industrial areas of Redcar and Middlesbrough and the far more rural and isolated areas of East Cleveland. We are on most main road routes and just a few hundred yards from the only railway station in the area as well as on the all too few bus routes available,we are therefore well positioned for ease of access.
Given the rural nature of the area we do a great deal of outreach work as well.

Learning new skills across the generations
We have been delivering informal, social and / or accredited qualifications learning since 2006 covering mainly ICT,literacy and Numeracy Assessments, employability skills and family learning activities. The centre has a coffee shop and internet café. Recent awards received form UK Online Centres have allowed us to expand in the range of learner opportunities and places of delivery and to better reflect the demands of the area. (See the “Learning” Tab) We have extended our delivery to a widely differing demography of users ranging in age from primary school through to pensioners and covering all levels of ability.
We are delighted to have been able to work with disabled groups, job seekers, lone parents, young families and to address issues of rural isolation and deprivation that areas of our region are prone to.

Its never too late to Get Online
Partnerships with the Schools,FE and HE sector have allowed for greater progression routes and help support our learning and education activities. Our aim is to provide the people of Saltburn and the surrounding rural areas the opportunity to use the all ICT’s not only for learning but also or more general usage. This has increasingly included email and social networking activity,mulit-media,completing taxes online, applying or passports, payment of utilities bills, job search activities, after school clubs, reporting anti social behaviour, approaching councillors online, petitioning and applying to the council for planning permissions.
